The San Diego Natural History Museum is all about
nature–past, present and future. General Admission tickets to
the Museum include the exhibitions Fossil Mysteries and
Water: A California Story and films in the giant-screen
theater. The Museum also hosts traveling exhibitions on a wide
range of global nature topics.
The San Diego Natural History Museum, in beautiful Balboa Park, is
a great place for families to explore, interact and learn together.
Many exhibitions are presented in both English and Spanish.
This ticket is not valid for separately priced exhibitions,
including Gunther von Hagens' BODY WORLDS 2 & The Brain—
Our Three Pound Gem, The Original Exhibition of Real Human
Bodies (Opens March 5, 2009, for a limited engagement).
This Museum is the second oldest scientific institution in
California and the third oldest west of the Mississippi. It was
founded in 1874 by a handful of citizen naturalists. An active
research institution, the Museum has a staff of over 60 scientists
whose research is incorporated into the Museum's wide range of
public programs and exhibitions.
